What it does
Converts between Unix timestamps and human-readable dates. Paste a timestamp in seconds, milliseconds, microseconds or nanoseconds to see it in Unix seconds, milliseconds and microseconds, as a readable date in UTC and in your local time (written in the page language), and as ISO 8601, RFC 9557, RFC 5322 and HTTP-date, plus how long ago it was. Paste a date in any supported format to get its timestamp.
How to use
- The input starts with the current time. Press Now at any time to reset it.
- Paste a timestamp or a date, or choose a date (and optionally a time down to the second) with the picker under the input. Results update as you type.
- Read as shows how the input was understood. If a number’s unit is guessed wrong, pick it under Input unit.

FAQ
› What is a Unix timestamp?
The number of seconds (or milliseconds) since 1970-01-01 00:00:00 UTC, also called epoch time. It is the same everywhere in the world, regardless of time zone.
› How does auto-detect pick seconds or milliseconds?
By size. Ten-digit numbers are seconds, thirteen digits are milliseconds, sixteen are microseconds and nineteen are nanoseconds. Choose a unit manually to override.
› Which date formats can I paste?
ISO 8601 / RFC 3339 (2024-01-01T08:00:00+08:00), RFC 9557 with a time zone (2024-01-01T08:00[Asia/Shanghai]), Y-M-D, D-M-Y and M/D/Y dates with an optional time, relative dates (now, yesterday, 3 days ago, in 2 weeks), RFC 5322 email dates and all three HTTP-date forms (IMF-fixdate, RFC 850 and asctime). Anything else your browser understands also works.
› Which time zone are dates without an offset in?
Your local time zone, including a plain date such as 2024-01-01 (local midnight). Add Z or an offset such as +08:00 for UTC or another zone, or append an IANA zone in brackets as RFC 9557 allows.
