What it does
This tool turns CSV data into an HTML table. The first row becomes the table header (<th> cells inside <thead>), and every other row becomes a <tr> in <tbody>. The markup is indented and free of inline styles, so it is easy to read, edit and style.
Use it to publish a spreadsheet on a website, put a table in a blog post or newsletter, or document data in an HTML page.
How to use
- Paste CSV into the Input box, upload a
.csvfile, or click Sample. - The HTML appears on the right as you type.
- Choose the Delimiter if auto-detection picks the wrong one, and turn First row is header off if your data has no header.
- Copy the HTML or download it as an
.htmlfile.
Example
name,city
Alice,Shanghai
becomes
<table>
<thead>
<tr>
<th>name</th>
<th>city</th>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>Alice</td>
<td>Shanghai</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
Notes
Rows with fewer cells than the widest row are padded with empty cells, so every row has the same number of columns.
FAQ
› Can I style the generated table?
Yes. The output is plain <table>, <thead>, <tbody>, <tr>, <th> and <td> markup without inline styles, so it picks up your site's CSS. Add a class to the <table> tag to target it.
› What if my CSV has no header row?
Turn off "First row is header". All rows are then written as data rows and no <thead> is generated.
› Are special characters safe?
Yes. <, >, & and quotes are escaped, so cell content is shown as text and cannot inject HTML. Line breaks inside a cell become <br>.
› Is there a size limit?
Inputs up to 1 MB convert as you type; larger files switch to manual mode, so press Run.
