How to use

  1. Choose Encode or Decode.
  2. Paste your text or Base64 string into the input, or click Sample.
  3. Turn on URL-safe if the result goes into a URL or file name.
  4. Copy the output, or press Use as input to reverse the conversion.

Example

Hello, World! encodes to SGVsbG8sIFdvcmxkIQ==.

FAQ

› Does it support Chinese, emoji and other non-English text?

Yes. Text is encoded as UTF-8 before Base64, so any character round-trips correctly.

› What is URL-safe Base64?

Base64URL replaces "+" with "-" and "/" with "_" and drops the "=" padding, so the result can go in URLs and file names. The decoder accepts both forms.

› Is Base64 encryption?

No. Base64 is an encoding, not encryption. Anyone can decode it, so never use it to hide passwords or secrets.
